Masrour Barzani: drone attack near Erbil is a war crime
Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Masrour Barzani said the drone attack on a Peshmerga member's home in Erbil province amounts to a war crime.

Kurdistan Regional Government Prime Minister Masrour Barzani said in a message on Tuesday, 7 April 2026: “I am deeply saddened to hear of the drone attack on the home of a Peshmerga in Erbil province, which killed him and his family.”
Barzani strongly condemned the attack on the Peshmerga's home, calling it “a heinous crime”.
“Targeting civilians and citizens' homes is a war crime. We will take the demand of the innocent people of Kurdistan to the whole world so that an end is put to the injustice against them and the people of Kurdistan are no longer attacked on unjustified pretexts,” he said.
