Gökbörü Erbil Medya is an independent news organisation based in Erbil. Our mission is to inform readers about Erbil, Kirkuk, the Iraqi Turkmen community, Iraq, the Kurdistan Region, Türkiye and the wider world through verified reporting that serves the public interest.
Editorial independence
Our news decisions are made on editorial grounds alone. No political body, advertiser, sponsor or interest group has any say over what we publish. Advertising and sponsored content are always clearly separated from journalism and labelled as such.
Reporting in four languages
We publish in Turkish, Kurdish (Sorani), Arabic and English. Our editors adapt each version so that it reads naturally for its audience, and every language edition follows the same verification and corrections standards.
