Omed Khoshnaw meets Turkish Consul General Erman Topcu in Erbil
Erbil's governor and Türkiye's consul general in Erbil expressed hope that peace would prevail in the region and that dialogue would shape the situation.

Erbil Governor Omed Khoshnaw visited Türkiye's Consulate General in Erbil on Wednesday, 28 January 2026, where he was received by Consul General Erman Topcu. Topcu thanked the governor for his visit, stressed the importance of relations between the Republic of Türkiye and the Kurdistan Region, and said he hoped to further develop ties between the two sides.
The governor thanked the consul general and reaffirmed the governorate's commitment to advancing cooperation with Türkiye in trade, investment, education, health and tourism.
The two sides also exchanged views on recent events in western Kurdistan (northeast Syria) and expressed hope that peace would be established in the region and that the language of dialogue would prevail.
