Three Turkmen MPs take up posts on parliamentary committees
Iraq's Council of Representatives voted to assign three Turkmen MPs to standing committees: Turkmen bloc leader Arshad al-Salihi joined the Human Rights Committee and parliamentary rapporteur Gulsel Mohammed Abdulrahman joined the Oil and Gas Committee.

Zulaikha Ilyas was elected a member of the Education Committee and its chair by seniority, overseeing education affairs. Iraqi Turkmen Front leader Mohammed Samaan Agha congratulated the MPs and stressed the importance of making full use of the committees' oversight and legislative roles to protect citizens' rights and develop service sectors.
He also called on all political blocs to speed up completion of the constitutional entitlements, above all the election of the president and the formation of a new government, so that political and economic stability can be established and services can better reach all communities.
