Foundation stone laid for Iraqi Turkmen Front headquarters in Kirkuk

A ceremony to lay the foundation stone of the Iraqi Turkmen Front's new building in Kirkuk was held with front leader Mohammed Samaan Agha and Turkmeneli Foundation president Dr Turhan Ketene.

A statement published on Mohammed Samaan Agha's social media account said:

“This strategic project embodies the Turkmen Front's vision of creating a comprehensive institutional structure that reflects the standing of the Turkmen people in Iraq and aims to strengthen the Turkmen people's role in the national, administrative and political spheres.”

  • A large ceremonial hall with capacity for more than 4,500 people, equipped with the most advanced audio and visual systems.
  • A state guest house to receive official domestic and international delegations.
  • An eight-storey central administrative building housing the offices of the front and its institutions.
  • A car park for about 600 vehicles with modern access and security systems.
  • A special hall for about 1,500 people designed for national festivals and celebrations.
  • Dedicated training halls for developing and training young Turkmen leaders.
  • A national library and Turkmen studies centre to preserve cultural identity and document historical heritage.
  • Fountains, lighting and themed gardens with modern landscaping that give the building an aesthetic identity.
  • A Turkmen heritage museum presenting the struggle and cultural identity of the Turkmen people.
  • A general assembly hall equipped with the latest communication and display technology.

“The project, covering about 25,000 square metres, has been planned as an integrated institutional complex that blends with national identity. The building will become a cultural landmark symbolising the development, architecture and hopes of the Turkmen people for the future.”

At the end of the ceremony, participants expressed their satisfaction, saying the major project reflects the importance the Iraqi Turkmen Front attaches to institutional work and to developing its administrative and organisational capacity.
