Erbil Asayish notice to media and residents
In an official statement, the Erbil Asayish Directorate asked all media outlets and residents to follow instructions during incidents and refrain from filming or sharing unofficial information, to protect public security and allow security teams to do their work.

In a notice issued on Thursday, 5 March 2026, the Erbil Asayish Directorate stressed that media outlets must act responsibly so that specialised teams can carry out their work at incident sites in an orderly way. It asked the media to refrain from covering incident scenes until official permission to publish information is given.
In another part of the notice, Erbil Asayish asked residents, in the interest of national security, not to record or share videos or photos of incident sites. It also thanked residents for their continued cooperation in providing information to the security forces.
