Arshad al-Salihi: protecting Turkmen institutions in the Kurdistan Region is the regional government's responsibility
Turkmen MP Arshad al-Salihi called on the Kurdistan Regional Government to expose the troublemakers trying to sow discord between Turkmen and Kurds.

Arshad al-Salihi, a member of Iraq's Council of Representatives, said on Wednesday, 21 January 2026, that protecting Turkmen institutions, media outlets and officially licensed political parties is the responsibility of the federal government outside the Kurdistan Region and of the regional government inside it.
“We call on the regional government to expose the troublemakers who are trying to stir up strife between Turkmen and Kurds. Iraq's Kurds must not be drawn into external issues that could have a negative impact on their security,” he said.
At around 12:30 am on the night between Tuesday and Wednesday, a masked group of four people attacked the TEBA Media Group building and wrote a number of threats on its walls.
